Job Description

The Part-Time Podiatrist is responsible for diagnosing, managing, and medically or surgically treating diverse pathologies and injuries affecting the human foot, ankle, and lower leg structures. Operating across a flexible 3-day weekly matrix, this role ensures the successful execution of specialized outpatient clinics, localized diabetic wound care, and musculoskeletal corrections to maximize panel mobility and comfort.

Required Qualifications * Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited and credentialed college of podiatric medicine.

  • Completion of an approved, accredited Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PMSR) track.

  • Board Certification or active Board Eligibility via the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) or ABPM.

  • Active, unrestricted license to practice podiatric medicine in Maryland or Virginia.

Preferred Skills * Advanced command over diabetic limb salvage, lower extremity biomechanical engineering, and custom orthotic engineering.

  • Clear, compassionate communication to educate patient panels on preventative foot hygiene and long-term diabetic compliance.

Experience Required * Successful completion of residency training or active clinical podiatric practice experience within a busy group, orthopedic hub, or specialized wound clinic.

Responsibilities Duties:

Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute outpatient clinic podiatric evaluations, checking vascular, neurological, and biomechanical parameters.

  • Prepare structured treatment blueprints for lower extremity conditions, covering ulcerations, fractures, deformities, and fungal infections.

  • Perform specialized clinical procedures including sharp debridement, custom orthotic modeling, ingrown nail extractions, and localized injections.

  • Coordinate with primary care physicians, vascular surgeons, endocrinologists, and physical therapy networks to drive integrated care.

  • Monitor patient lower limb recovery timelines and promptly adjust orthotic setups or wound dressings to accelerate healing.

  • Maintain absolute tracking accuracy across electronic health records, fulfilling federal coding and clinical compliance benchmarks.
