Job Description

The Gastroenterologist is responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating disorders affecting the entire gastrointestinal tract, liver, gallbladder, and pancreatic systems. The role ensures the successful execution of specialized outpatient clinics, high-volume endoscopic interventions, and inpatient consults while maintaining elite standards of clinical safety, precise diagnostic tracking, and operational quality.

Required Qualifications * Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an approved medical school.

  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency followed by a Gastroenterology Fellowship.

  • Board Certification or active Board Eligibility via the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Gastroenterology.

  • Active, unencumbered license to practice medicine within the state.

Preferred Skills * Masterful manual dexterity, spatial visualization capacity, and advanced command over modern endoscopic laser systems.

  • Clear, empathetic communication to manage long-term chronic gastrointestinal patient panels smoothly.

Responsibilities Duties:

Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute comprehensive patient evaluations, targeted diagnostic reasoning, and chronic symptom tracking.

  • Prepare advanced treatment plans for complex conditions including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), hepatitis, IBS, GERD, and GI malignancies.

  • Perform specialized endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGD), and polypectomies safely.

  • Coordinate with general surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, interventional radiologists, and specialized nursing cohorts.

  • Monitor post-procedure patient status changes and promptly address complications such as bleeding or gastrointestinal perforations.

  • Maintain absolute compliance with AGA guidelines, ASGE benchmarks, and secure federal electronic documentation structures.
