Job Description

The Mechanical Technician performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks pertaining to the installation, maintenance, repair and service of the electrical and mechanical equipment, instruments and provide technical staff support to operations.
 

Educational Level:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or sufficient extensive field experience and/or trainings.

Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), including respirators, gloves, ... etc
Experience
3 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role in an industrial plant/Oil & Gas, including preferably at least 2 years in a similar role in a Desalination/RO Plant.

Responsibilities Duties:

  • Ensures compliance with safety requirements and liaison and coordination with other Departments as required.
  • Manages and ensures mechanical spare parts availability for scheduled and projected jobs.
  • Knowledge of Statutory Regulations and Health and Safety
  • Equipment Problems Trouble-shooting
  • Basic Equipment Operation
  • Basic Root Cause Analysis
  • Ensures equipment, materials and tools are on-hand for work execution. Reports resources and time utilized, job scope expansion, rework or deferred maintenance as required; also keeping all tasks & activities logged and up-dated.
  • Assists in preparing maintenance activities for execution, ensuring permits, tools, materials and equipment in place in accordance with maintenance schedules.
  • Ensures maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with client and industry standard policies and procedure.
  • Inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and service facilities, machinery and equipment.
  • Upholds with organization Safety and QA/QC procedures and strictly enforces them amongst the workforce.
  • Performs corrective mechanical maintenance by troubleshooting the cause of malfunctions using visual inspection and precision measuring and testing instruments and replacing or repairing broken parts
  • Maintains effective Health and Safety systems, including completion of risk assessments and method statements and tool box talks where appropriate.
  • Adheres to safety orders and comply with OSHA regulations in all aspects of work.
  • Operates and maintains a variety of hand and power tools used in the performance of assigned duties
  • Lead man in the inspection, checking, preparation and implementation of the mechanical work.
  • Monitors mill operation and other related mechanical activities to troubleshoot problems to minimize downtime.
  • Implement lubrication and other preventive maintenance work.
  • Coordinate with other departments in the implementation of maintenance work
